Sukeban

Oak Street

Suke Ban is by far my favorite sushi place in New Orleans. It’s a izakaya style restaurant, so the experience feels very traditional. Sitting at the bar and watching the chefs prepare the dishes was really special and made me appreciate the food even more when I ate it. The staff are extremely inviting, knowledgeable, and generous with sharing their journeys as chefs (which is pretty awesome). The freshness of the fish is very pronounced with every bite. Also, if I were you I’d definitely explore the appetizer menu and the specials because it changes with the season and they have some unique options. The ambiance is very clean, modern, and chic. Its a very small place, so I would recommend making a reservation if you are in a party larger than four.
